Fly to Gothenburg

Friendly cafés, hot chocolate and a cinnamon bun. Gothenburg, or Göteborg, knows how to be cozy! Stockholm’s little brother is small enough to maintain a small-town intimacy and unique character, but still big enough to offer lots of excitement.

Every season has its charm. The Christmas market is a highlight during winter. In spring, tulips come out, and you can buy your lunch from a food truck. The summer brings sun, sailboats and sandwiches to the harbor. The fall is colorful and photogenic, and the art galleries become quite inviting when the weather gets cooler. Don’t forget the street Magasingatan, with food trucks, coffee bars and classy brunch places.

But the most important thing is probably Liseberg. This amusement park is open all year round, and offers a haunted house, roller coasters and plenty of cotton candy!

Activities in Gothenburg

Gothenburg is a place where anyone can feel comfortable, whether you are travelling with friends, a partner or small children and grandparents. Most everything is within walking distance. Activities can be on the childish end, such as the zoo and the aquarium, or more sophisticated, such as the city museum, the Maritime Museum and the botanical gardens.

There is always something going on at Svenska Mässan: sporting events, concerts and other gatherings. There is the music festival Way Out West, the Gothenburg Horse Show, the Midnattsloppet costumed race and Kulturkalaset, one of the biggest cultural festivals in the Nordics - with free entrance.

If you have a weekend to spare, or even less: recharge, fill up on ‘fika’ and let the city inspire you.
