Fly to Sørlandet

Southern Norway is famous for its idyllic coastal life. Go for a swim, sunbathe on a rock, or sail lazily in a cove. If the weather is right, Southern Norway can be better than Southern Europe!

Small towns, villages, white coastal houses, cafés and country stores await you. Enjoy the local food specialties, southern smiles and pleasant atmosphere.

Activities in Sørlandet

Southern Norway can be experienced by bicycle, car, kayak or boat. Traveling by water is a unique experience. There are endless islands, islets and reefs to explore, and plenty of wildlife to meet.

The North is famous for its spawning cod, but here on the southern coast, the mackerel is the star. It won’t go easy on you and your fishing rod, but it will taste delicious with some potatoes, sour cream and cucumber salad.

Southern Norway is fiercer than you may think! Høyt & Lavt Climbing Park will test your limits, as will the forces of the Mandalselva river if you go rafting. You could even go on a moose safari!

Kristiansand Zoo and Amusement Park is one of Norway’s most popular attractions for families. You can see over 1000 animals there, and visit Cardamom Town and the Hucky-Bucky Forest, famous from Torbjørn Egner’s books. You can even meet Captain Sabertooth – hopefully he won’t make you walk the plank!

Lindesnes Lighthouse is an extraordinary experience, situated at Norway’s southernmost point. Gaze upon the ocean horizon, and maybe enjoy a nice waffle while you’re there.
